This is an alll you can eat buffet. It is quite cheap for the type of cuisine. For the price you can't have huge expectations. The food was hit and miss. The beef was delicious. The oil used to fry the chicken karage and katsu needed to be changed. The deserts were enjoyed. All in all if you don't have huge expectations, you will enjoy your meal. It is priced fairly according to the quality.
Enough to enjoy, but quality is not that great. I’ve tasted better Japanese food. Overall, still worth it for the price.

1st experience was amazing. Food is divine, drinks were cold. When myself and my family went there wasn't a spare seat in the house. I only gave 4 stars for service only because we didn't like that the staff didn't take the empty plates when they were finished and we got more. Other than that. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We had all you can eat and it was $244 for 5 people. I wish I took a photo of every plate we ordered. But we couldn't resist it. It looked soo good.
Been here a few times over the years but have to say tonight’s meal and restaurant unfortunately did not meet our expectations. The service was fast for the most part. A hot evening and the fans were running so not sure what happened to the air con but didn’t seem to be on. The place quickly filled up and the noise level was so loud it made it difficult to chat at the table. Staff friendly and courteous. Some great dishes and some not so great ones. The new order system was annoying at a large table. I get this works at a restaurant when ordering one meal but at an all you can eat means doing the work for the restaurant staff and I couldn’t enjoy my meal without having to order someone’s drink or more food. Unfortunately we won’t be back.

Potential diners should take note that Okami is NOT a true buffet in that there's a limit to "all you can eat". Despite the two hour time limit, the dishes are served extremely slow. I went there today for dinner and only two dishes came out in the first 40 minutes. Not exactly a pleasant experience when you're hungry and you watch food gets served to other tables.The waiters look tired, avoid eye contact, and there's not enough of them. Food seems to be internationally slow to save costs.The food quality is quite nice for a typical "buffet". The portions are small to avoid food wastage.For $40, I think it's borderline reasonable. In my opinion, they need to start raising prices to at least $50, reduce eating time to 90 minutes, BUT serve dishes much faster.I don't recommend Okami if you're a big eater or come large groups.The Okami seems to be better at the Silverwater venue and I don't think I'll be coming back to Marrickville. Sorry.

The place were jam packed with people during dinner, which meant noise and heat. The air conditioning couldn't catch up with the amount of people.The foods are terrible. I could hand pick the one which are okay, such as Chicken Karaage (the batter is light and crispy), Beef Carpaccio (nice beef and ponzu with salad combination), and wakame salad (taste simply amazing). The rest is just AYCE trap.Sushi (nigiri and roll) is jam packed with rice without any concern of filling whatsoever. It feels like, "Hey, you order it so you must finish it or we will charge you, even though it's just mostly rice and taste bad!" And you can't order sashimi without having all the terrible nigiri and roll. The tamagoyaki simply terrible, huge chance not made in house. Ebi still got veins and taste bland. Tuna feels frozen and watery. And all the roll basically just cucumber filling.This pattern continues to other dishes, such as curry udon with lots of udon and a couple piece of katsu. Huge portion of fried rice. Bland Miso Soup. Overcooked beef yakiniku. The steak actually okay. The spicy ika is simply squid imitation cake, not a real squid. The tempura batter is dense and the sauce is bland. Takoyaki mostly just batter. The croquette is nice, but just potato without anything added. The agedashi tofu surprisingly okay with soft silken tofu.The dessert was just okay. The sesame ice cream feels heavy and a bit rancid. The taiyaki feels like frozen product with adzuki filling and fried, nothing special.The service is slow. Your order may come 10 minutes after you order it. And when you were hungry with empty table you got tendency to order more than what you need.Overall, even though it's understandable it's an AYCE business which aiming to get as much profit as possible with as low as possible food cost, it simply feels terrible. There is no love for the food, especially the sushi. Yes, it is filling, but not satisfying. You can have your money worth better elsewhere, but not here. But, surprisingly all other people seems happy to dine here, maybe my standard is simply too high.

In the process of consumption, I regret it, because the ingredients used are very cheap and inferior ingredients among the ingredients, and the price is very cheap, which is not worthy of this consumption at all! It sounds like the dream, All-You-Can-Eat Japanese. But while the moderately priced $39pp price tag sounds good, the quality is a huge miss.The service is good considering the waitresses need to handle so much food. But almost every single dish was disappointing.The Miso steak was cold, the tofu and Miso soup bland, the sushi rolls fell apart and tasted old, and the Beef Carpaccio was overly salty.The Karage Chicken and the Eggplant were great though.That being said, we won't be in a rush to return. Everything just felt very amateurish.
Went in for dinner. Food itself wasnt too bad. The beef w/miso, eggplant salad and beef capachio were probably the stand out dishes and were delicious. The sushi, sashimi and gyoza were not great at all. The sashimi was not that fresh IMO. The chicken katsu was a tad dry, the mushroom salad and takoyaki were both great with great texure. Customer service could be improved. Some servers were nice and friendly and others were abrupt borderline rude. Food took quite a while to come out which made the concept of “all you can eat” a tad redundant considering you probably only get to order a 3-4 times max (and that’s if you flag someone down) and by then your two hours is up. I feel that this restaurant and concept would significantly benefit from having an ipad or QR table ordering system. That way, once the tables put through their orders, all the wait staff need to do is deliver it to the table. We came as a group of 14, and we really loved it! The booking process was easy and staff were accommodating when I needed to change numbers a couple of times. And the food was amazing! We tried so many different dishes and there wasn’t a negative word said about any of them. This was my first time at Okami and I’ll definitely be back 🙂
Terrible food.. This restaurant did not have the same quality compare to other Okami branches. For assorted sushi, they never served Tuna for our table. For sushi rolls, they were full of rice with an extremely thin slice of salmon.I checked pictures of here on the reviews but I never saw plates like them.We were very satisfied at the other branch, but we will not come back hereFYI. Overall it was a good dining experience. We came here by booking in advance. Ordered straight from the start and finished in less than 2 hours. We expected this place to offer a bit of premium quality but it was just okay. Some food was quite good and others were just okay. Some just make you quickly feel full especially the beef meals (too hard to bite). Dessert were so pleasant. We were hoping to get a better food experience. However, the staff were attentive and helpful. This is a place where you get bangs for bucks if that's what you're after plus long chit-chat and group dining.
